True. Is there a chance that it was the same artist and he/she just embellished on his/her original work? Either way, it saves time and monetary resources for other projects, etc.

The L2 art is much older then the Charr sword. That concept art is from the L2 launch.
I don't believe the "Charr Sword" is currently in L2 (they don't have it in the weapon list on their site), though I have some vague memories that it used to be one of the higher end 2h swords, back when that middle red sword was the only S grade weapon, and had no drop points. Disclaimer: haven't played L2 in a looong time.

lots of other weapons copied too. i can see stygian being inspired by the first ax, break hammer by the hammer, and a gothic ax by 2nd ax

Umm...not really? They may have the same general shape as the weapons your talking about, but there's only so many shapes a weapon can have and still be an axe/hammer/sword/what-have-you. The Charr sword is the same right down to the pattern of the lines on the blade.

Not really, NCSoft is just a publisher and their devs don't sit around swapping content. Maybe the artist who designed it and never used it for L2, changed jobs and decided to use it for GW though. Or maybe someone ripped off the design lol.

Only the daggers from the concept art image above actually made into the Lineage 2 game. None of the swords did.
If that sword had made it into Lineage 2 it would have been a 2 handed sword by the way.

Nooo!!! Do not call their attention to this. Before you know it, they will do things like the enchanting of swords for multipliers, the augmenting of weapons for bonuses. (nothing better than a paralyze augment on a weapon)
On a side note, L2 is really, really fun. Not that I have ever played it on an official server. (wink wink knudge knudge say-no-more say-no-more)

The gold dagger kind of looks like the dagger of time from PoP: Sot.
But man that orange/red(whatever it is) sword looks sweet.

the middle one with the addition of a little "magma" texturing would have made an excellent Destroyer sword imo....

well how many things can you do with a sword, i'd say some were copied but if you look at other games you'll also find some similarities i'd assume.

Found an in-game of that sword, guess it was the old model for the Dragon Slayer (A Grade 2h sword) back in C1.
For comparison:

The deldrimor hammer looks way more inspired by that hammer than a break hammer.

NCSoft owns ArenaNet. There is no way that an ArenaNet artist would have used that design without first asking permission.

There's a little similarity if you spend some time stretching certain parts around and make some tweaks to the middle area.
I think it's obvious the Charr sword is based off the same concept art, and as a result a lot of people are seeing similarites that are more likely the result of weapons of the same type (hammers, axes, swords) having certain general shapes that recur across most games with more then a few different designs.
